Coronavirus is real and a potential threat to the health of many of our members and visitors. Yet we all have a terminal fatal disease that requires the face to face treatment that recovery meetings bring. In order to balance these risks, we ask all members/visitors to the Galano Recovery Club to respect the following changes to typical meeting protocol:
If you are ill, have a fever, cold symptoms, or coughing, please stay home and look into an online meeting.
If you are recovering from any upper respiratory illness lasting over 7 days and fever free for 3 days, and you need a meeting, please obtain and wear a mask for the entire time you are in the Club Also, please sit at the table only and refrain from getting coffee (or ask someone to get it for you). If you are coughing, please understand if the secretary asks you to leave. This will minimize your risk to other members present.
During meetings, please refrain from touching/holding hands/hugging other people. This will minimize direct person to person transmission. Also, please refrain from touching as many surfaces as possible. Try to use more of the room rather than sit in small groups. This will protect you from inadvertent exposure to a number of viruses, including coronavirus.
At the conclusion of each meeting, the secretary (or designee) of each meeting will be responsible for wiping down the chairs and tables, the tables in social room and the coffee area. Wipes will be provided so please do not take these for personal use.
Our goal is to provide the maximum amount of recovery opportunities with as minimal risk of infection as possible. We do not want to have to close the club, but if the public health authorities think it is necessary, we will follow current guidelines as they become available.
